Content Management (CMS)

A Content Management System (CMS) allows you  to update your website quickly and easily, without the need for specialist or technical web development knowledge. Many web companies have built bespoke solutions and now there are a wealth of off-the-shelf software solutions available.

Some solutions, such as Macromedia Contribute, install web site editing software on your local machine. Whilst this may be cost effective for small sites, you can only manage your content from one machine unless you buy multiple copies of the software.

Many other solutions are accessed via a secure area of your website and are driven by a database application that not only allows changes to be made to content, but also presents the web pages dynamically as the user browses. This allows anytime, anywhere access and does not require any software installation.  These solutions tend to be aimed at large organisations and incorporate companywide document management capability, which by their nature can become complex to use, and require a significant hardware infrastructure.

Over the years of producing bespoke Content Management tools and integrating third party solutions, and in response to our clients comments, we decided to create a CMS that worked for both our large and small clients, allowing them to manage their site quickly, easily and above all cost effectively.

Coloni Content Manager was created through sister company Coloni Ltd , our Internet Service Provision (ISP) and Application Service Provision (ASP) company, to compliment our range of application services.

This means that you do not need to have expensive software installed on a specific computer, all you need is a web browser! Content can be published without any specialist skills, whilst maintaining a coherent structure and appearance.
