Why TrustFord chose Digits LMS to support their L&D programme
In 2020, TrustFord decided to change its learning management system (LMS) to Digits LMS – we sat down with one of their L&D managers to discover why
TrustFord is the largest Ford-dedicated dealer group for new and used cars, vans, servicing and repairs. They have a team of three L&D professionals helping to provide the training and development needs for over 3000 employees.
We recently spoke to Michael Moseley, L&D manager at TrustFord, to discover why they chose Digits LMS to replace their previous learning management system. The L&D team at TrustFord prioritised the following requirements:
- Better quality reporting, including scheduled reporting
- Able to build learning pathways
- A superior look and feel and single sign-on
What stood out about Digits LMS? Moseley says, “It was the ability to build pathways for learners. It’s also the general ease of use from both an admin and colleague point of view.” Moseley confirms that TrustFord employees have so far “found Digits LMS easy to use and navigate,” and in terms of the impact on their learning, he adds, “it’s still too early to say what the full impact will be, but it has been very useful to roll out remote training during lockdown.”
TrustFord purchased off-the-shelf content libraries, from Digits, to add even more learning and self-learning options. Moseley comments on the impact that adding these libraries have had, “We have seen employees voluntarily access some modules, especially the wellbeing ones.”
The shift to remote working, during the pandemic, has meant that L&D teams have had to adapt to delivering training digitally, and Digits LMS has been at the heart of transforming employee learning for TrustFord. Moseley says, “Digits LMS has been invaluable to allow us to train on topics that are not possible in a virtual classroom – for example, IT systems training. Also, virtual classrooms are not as engaging as face-to-face sessions, so it has been useful to allow colleagues to access 15-minute refresher sessions where some information may have been forgotten.”
Going forward, the L&D team at TrustFord is looking to use Digits LMS for more than just eLearning. Moseley says, “Our next steps will be to see how we can log a record of all training – both virtual and face to face – in one system.” To find out more about Digits LMS can support your learning journey, contact us at email@example.com or call 01489 889900.
