Digits work with local University
19th Jun 2015
Bill Deal, Digits' Implementation Lead, has been working on a project with 2nd year Computing students at Southampton Solent University.
Bill produced a Live Brief for the Engineering Software Systems module - the options were to develop a piece of gamified eLearning content or to create a room booking sub-system for an LMS. Drawing from Bill’s own industrial experience, the brief was designed to be as commercially relevant and up-to-date as possible, to give the students a better opportunity to respond to a real-life industrial scenario.
After delivering the requirements via a series of videos, Bill met the students at the University –discussing and reviewing their plans as well as answering any questions.
Having completed the project, Southampton Solent University held a demonstration day where Bill was invited along to provide feedback on the final products. Bill said ‘I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with young developers and see some of their exciting new approaches to work. Initial feedback from the University indicates the added expertise has been valuable in driving engagement with the module.”
We are really excited about building a relationship with the University in the future through further partnerships.
